A very good quote and paragraph from an Obituary The Economist wrote on Richard Smalley, a Nobel laureate and champion of nanotechnology who died on October 28, 2005. As he grew older, however, he became more convinced that science could do little or nothing to explain the world of spirituality. The more he learned, the more he realised that even the cleverest scientist understood only the tip of the material iceberg. “So how”, he wondered, “can we know what we cannot even see?”
